Terms of Service

Welcome to Contomi. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Contomi mobile applications, website, and related services (together, the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

1. Who we are

Contomi is operated by Contomi, Inc. ("Contomi," "we," "us," or "our"). When we refer to "you," we mean the person using the Service.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or 16 in the EU/UK) to use Contomi. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this requirement and that you have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement.

3. Your account

• You're responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential.
• You're responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
• Notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access.
• One person, one account. Sharing accounts isn't supported.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any illegal purpose, or to violate the rights of others.
• Upload content that's harmful, harassing, or contains malware.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract source code from the Service, except where permitted by law.
• Interfere with the Service's normal operation, including by overwhelming it with requests.
• Scrape, harvest, or systematically collect data from the Service.
• Resell or commercially redistribute the Service without our written consent.

5. Your content

You retain ownership of the content you put into Contomi (receipts, splits, group names, etc.). You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, process, and display that content as needed to operate the Service for you and the people in your groups.

6. Money and payments

Contomi calculates who owes whom. It does not move money. Any actual payments between you and other people happen outside Contomi, on whatever app or method you choose. We're not a money transmitter, payment processor, or financial institution. We're not responsible for disputes about who pays whom outside the app.

7. Service availability

We aim to keep Contomi running smoothly, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted availability. The Service is provided "as is" — we may add, remove, or change features at any time. We'll do our best to give notice of material changes.

8. Subscriptions and pricing

The core split flow is free. We may introduce optional paid tiers in the future. If we do, pricing and terms for those tiers will be presented at the time of purchase. Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the period; you can manage subscriptions in your App Store or Google Play account settings.

9. Termination

You can stop using Contomi at any time and delete your account from Profile → Settings. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, or if your continued use creates a legal or security risk for us or other users. We'll give notice when we reasonably can.

10. Disclaimers

The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don't warrant that receipt scanning will be accurate or that calculations will be free from error — please double-check any number before sending it to a friend.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Contomi will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenues, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of (or inability to use) the Service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the prior 12 months or (b) USD $50.

12. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Contomi and its team from any claim, damage, loss, or expense arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.

13. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Disputes will be resolved by binding individual arbitration, except where prohibited by law. You may opt out of arbitration within 30 days of first agreeing to these Terms by emailing us.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll notify you in the app and update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use after the change means you accept the new Terms.
